Swimming Pool & Water Slide RULES (rev. 5/5/2010)

Hours: May 22, 2010 - Aug 17, 2010 Lifeguard on duty (and slide open) from 11am-7pm. Once school starts Aug 18, 2010 - Sept 6, 2010 Lifeguard on duty from 4pm-7pm only

NO SWIMMING ALLOWED AFTER DUSK

     **The Water Slide is only available when a Lifeguard is on duty.**
     No Lifeguards and no water slide use prior to Memorial Day weekend or after Labor Day.
               

1.     Admittance only to residents in good standing and their accompanied guests.

2.     No children under 12 are permitted to swim under any circumstances without a parent or other obligated adult (18 or older) present.

3.     All members are required to familiarize their children with all pool and slide rules. Parents are responsible for their children, whether that parent is at the pool or not.

4.     For safety reasons there can be no running, pushing, jumping in on others, jumping off the Lifeguard chair, dunking or holding others under the water. Absolutely, No Diving!!

5.     Any food items taken to the pool or immediate area surrounding the pool are the responsibility of the homeowner.

6.     No glass, bottles, chinaware nor items in breakable containers are allowed in the pool/picnic area. In addition, chewing gum or other sticky substances are not permitted in the pool or pool area.

7.     No smoking.

8.     All trash must be placed in the receptacles provided before you leave the pool area.

9.      No alcoholic beverages are allowed for anyone under the age of twenty-one (21). Consumption of alcoholic beverages is a matter of personal preference. Containers of alcoholic beverages should be kept concealed and should be in a non-breakable container. A person showing signs of intoxication will be denied use of the facilities and is subject to suspension and/or expulsion.

10.     No wet suits allowed at any time in any carpeted areas of the clubhouse.

11.     No loitering in or around the restroom or pool area after hours.

12.     The Lifeguards, Amenities Committee, and the Advisory Committee have the authority to disallow exuberant play that may interfere with the enjoyment of the pool by others.

13.     The Lifeguards, Amenities Committee, and the Advisory Committee shall have the authority when they deem necessary to expel anyone at any time for misbehavior, use of abusive language, or apparent intoxication. Those individuals may not return to the pool area until the following day. 14.     Water wings, children's small round floats, snorkel tubes, face masks, and soft plastic balls under 12' diameter are permitted. All other floatation devices are prohibited.

15.     No pets, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates or roller blades are allowed in the pool area.

16.     People with communicable diseases (i.e. open or infected eyes, open-unhealed wounds) will be restricted from pool usage.

17.     ALL children who are not potty trained MUST wear swim diapers and plastic pants. No disposable diapers are allowed in the pool.

18.     Children in the wading pool must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

19.     Cut-offs and other improper swim wear are not allowed in the pool.

20.     A member must accompany their guests at all times. The number of guests allowed at any given time will be limited. If there are more than eight guests in one party, the resident must arrange for and pay for additional Lifeguards.

21.     The health and safety of members and their guests is ultimately their own responsibility. The Neighborhood Association and the Advisory Committee assume no responsibility. Members or their guests can have no claim against the Neighborhood Association or Advisory Committee for any accident or injury. The Neighborhood Association and Advisory Committee are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal property.

22.     The pool cannot be reserved for exclusive use, but may be used along with a paid Clubhouse reservation, provided proper notification is given and appropriate extra Lifeguards are hired.

23.     The ratio of children to parent or other obligated adult will not be greater than five to one.

24.     Members leaving the pool area must close/lock the gate.

25.     Please exercise courtesy with regards to the use of pool furniture and the playing of radios. There will be no reserving of pool furniture. Also, please keep all radios and other listening devices at a reasonable volume level that does not disturb other residents in the pool area.

26.     Subjects not covered by the above rules will be handled by the Lifeguard on duty or by the Amenities Committee.

Note: BridgeMill has adopted the National Lightning Safety Institute’s rule that “when thunder and/or lightning are first noticed, the pool should be evacuated. People should be directed to safe shelter nearby. Pool activities should remain suspended until thirty (30) minutes after the last thunder is heard.” Continual observations will be made.

ALL residents and their guests at the pool MUST abide by these rules.


BRIDGEMILL WATER SLIDE RULES

This season, the pool is being managed by Carolina Pool Management, Inc.

1.     Use of the water slide is restricted to only those hours during which a lifeguard is on duty.
     No Lifeguards and no water slide use prior to Memorial Day weekend or after Labor Day.
     Lifeguard available (water slide open) during the following hours.
          Memorial Day Weekend to Start of School – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
          Start of School thru Labor Day – 4 p.m. to 7. p.m.
               Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays – regular summer hours

2.     Individuals desiring to use the water slide must be at least forty-two inches tall or be able to swim the length of the pool under the lifeguard’s observation.

3.     Riders must be in good general health. Women who are pregnant and anyone with a heart or back condition should not use the water slide. No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs may ride the water slide. All participants ride at their own risk.

4.     Swimsuits must be free of buckles and sharp objects. No cut offs are allowed. Riders may not be wearing jewelry.

5.     No swim aids are permitted in the flume. This includes floats, tubes, mats and life jackets.

6.     Riders must wait for supervisory personnel to authorize their start. They must come down the slide feet first, and lying down on their back. Arms should be crossed or hand interlocked behind the head and legs crossed at the ankle.

7.     There shall be no running or jumping into the slide area or the splash pool.

8.     Only one rider at a time is permitted on the slide. There shall be no “trains” of people nor shall there be small children riding down with adults or older children.

9.     Arms, hands, feet, and legs must be kept inside the flume at all times. There shall be no standing on any part of the slide at any time.

10.     Extraneous activity in the splash pool is prohibited. Riders should exit the splash pool immediately after landing.

11.     The waiting line to use the slide must be formed on the pool deck, not on the stairs.

12.     Use of the slide for any reason during non-lifeguard hours or other unapproved events is strictly prohibited. Persons using the slide in a manner that violates this rule will be banned from slide use for the remainder of the season.

13.     Failure to follow the above rules can result in serious injury or death, or loss of privilege. Please be a smart rider.
